Which Diet is the best for YOU?

Which Diet Is Best Suited For YOU?

Diets and Weigh-Loss plans are always a hot topic of discussion..

There are literally hundreds of various diet plans out there, each with their own benefits and down-sides.
Losing weight (and keeping it off) is difficult for most people. o we are constantly looking out for the next big thing, the magical diet or the latest celebrity-backed products.
When you take a step back it looks obvious that dieters generally dismiss weight-loss plans that didn’t work for them and champion the ones that did..
That seems fair enough, but I have come to the conclusion that the main factor in success is the dieter themselves rather than the diet.
Maybe it's more a case of picking a weight-loss plan that suits the type of person you are, rather than trying to make you fit the diet.
And always remember - there are no magical weight-loss plans. They all take some level of commitment and effort.

3 Types of Weight Loss Plan

I have broken down the hundreds of different plans into just three
groups:

  1. The good, old “eat less and exercise” plan
  2. The diet that depends on eating or avoiding certain types of food or nutrition
  3. The plans based around a detox or single food approach
Over many years of dieting, I have probably tried all of them,
with varying degrees of success.
As I said that might be more connected to me and my circumstances than
the diets themselves.
So, what are the pluses and negatives (and my suggestions) for these
different weight-loss plans?

The “Eat Less & Exercise” Plans

Let’s just be honest here. Eating less (and healthier) foods and getting
regular exercise is the most effective way to lose weight and keep it off.
It has worked since long before anyone knew what a calorie or a carbohydrate
even was.
If you burn off more calories than you consume, you will lose weight. And
exercise gives you other benefits too - including a healthier heart
and better mental well-being too.
But there’s is an issue.
This is the perfect weight-loss plan for people who have self-control and
discipline. People with the will to eat in moderation and the
determination to go to the gym or jog around the park.
However, by definition, if you are overweight you are probably not one of those types
of people.
If you have put on weight due to an illness, injury or pregnancy,
then maybe. But the chances are that you don’t have the self-control and
motivation when it comes to diet and exercise.
So, how can you get it?
Many dieters are turning to support groups or personal trainers
to help give them the motivation to stick to their diet & exercise regimes.
Groups like Weight Watchers succeed because they build a support
network around dieters which will hopefully keep them focused on what
they eat.
Of course, you need the time and motivation to go along in the first
place. You also need the confidence to be weighed in front of others.
The good news is that, like everything else these days, This type of
supported group diet program is now available online.
For a small subscription you can join an online program where the
program coach will have regular group and one-to-one sessions run
entirely online.
This would suit people maybe too busy or too shy to attend “real-life”
groups. And also, you wouldn’t need to be weighed in front of a people.

Recommendation #1 – The Three-Week Diet Plan
There are a ton of these Diet Programs out there. Mostly from the US and
mostly with video presentations.
This one has real tangible assets you can get for your money. Namely 4
manuals.
An Introduction, A Diet Plan, A Workout Plan and a manual on
Motivation.
And they come with a Money-Back Guarantee.
For a low price you can try this out. It might be the weight loss plan you
are looking for.
dr becky weight loss diet coaching
Recommendation #2 – Doctor Becky Weight Loss Coaching
If you think that you’ll need more than just manuals to keep you on track,
then Dr Becky offers online Coaching to help get you through.
With a load of online resources and diet plans to suit you, this is well
worth looking at.

“eating or avoiding specific foods” diets

As mentioned above, eating less and exercising is a fool-proof way to
lose weight but also doesn’t suit everyone.
Some diets don’t revolve around counting calories or exercising.
These diets tend to focus instead on the way the body reacts to eating or
avoiding specific things.
These “metabolic” diets usually boast the fact that you can eat lots as
long as what you eat is very specific.
Of course, this is great news for people who lack the willpower to simply
eat less or the motivation to hit the gym.
Probably the biggest diet along these lines over the last 30 years gas been
the “Atkins Diet”. This weight loss plan has transformed over the last few
years into the “Ketogenic” or “Keto” diet.
Without going into the specifics of the Keto diet, it basically revolves
around eating very little carbohydrates in your diet and therefore putting
your body into a Ketogenic state where it starts to burn off Fat for fuel.
The upshot is you can eat, meat, eggs, and cheese all day and still lose
weight as your fat supplies are used up. Also, the high fat diet actually
makes you feel fuller for longer too. Which definitely makes it easier.
There are things you need to supplement into your diet and things you
simply cannot eat – see our 5 top tips here – but if you like meat, eggs
and cheese you will love it.
From a personal perspective, I have lost a lot of weight on this diet.
But, only after a couple of attempts at it and with online support.
There are downsides as with any weight loss plan.
If you have a sweet-tooth you may struggle. If you like beer, you are out
of luck. Or if you like to go out and eat in restaurants you may find it
difficult to monitor your “carb” intake.
Having said that, I found it pretty easy going once I got into the swing of it.
But as with the “eat less & exercise “diet above, you can always get
support on these types of diet too.
morning fat melter weight loss diet book
Recommendation #3 – The Morning Fat Melter
With books, videos and manuals this program comes with a load of
tangible products.
Like any diet, your results may not match the ones in the testimonials,
but with a low price it is worth checking out.
And with a 60-day money-back-guarantee the risk is low.
Also, Dr Becky (above) gives coaching on the “Keto Diet” too.

“Detox” and “single food” diets

These diets are a mystery to me, I must be honest.
The idea is that you can kick-start weight loss and an overall healthier
body by “detoxifying” yourself.
The philosophy is that the modern diet, especially things like trans-fats
and sugar, have contaminated the body and basically made it “ill” and
less efficient.

Therefore, you put on weight, feel run down etc
So, by detoxing you reset your metabolism back to its “factory settings”.
Cleansing the system, so to speak.
Most evidence for the effectiveness of the detox type of weight loss plan
is anecdotal rather than scientific.
Normally the detox plans are around 5-7 days long so a short-term way
to get the ball rolling on a healthy diet or exercise plan.
Of course, once the detox is done you may feel better and have lost a bit
of weight, but if you are looking to lose a lot of weight, you will probably
still need to go on a weight-loss diet.
Personally, I would avoid any detox that involved pills or potions.
Most of the ones I’ve seen are food-based and you can pick one that
involves food you can imagine eating exclusively for about a week.
If anyone comes up with the bacon sandwich detox diet I might try it.
total wellness cleanse detox diet weight loss program
Recommendation #4 – The Total Wellness Cleanse
There are no pills, powders or supplements here.
It is a simple food-based plan, that can give you not only weight loss help,
but also other health benefits from detoxifying your body.
Lots of resources and well worth a look.
red tea detox diet weight loss plan
Recommendation #5 – The Red Tea Detox
One of the newer programs around, this is also one of the more popular.
Skinny Teas and Green Tea detox has been around for a while. Promoted
by everyone, even the Kardashians.
This one utilises African Red Tea. The page has a great Dramatic video too.
Worth a look for that alone.

Diets Summary

As I said at the top of the article, I’m not a dietician. But I am a serial
dieter.
If I was to summarise my thoughts on these weight-loss diet plans it
would be…
If you are motivated and have the willpower, then just eat less calories and get more exercise. Joining a
support group or getting a personal trainer could help keep you on track.
If, like me, you aren’t motivated, and your will power is low, then try a
diet that gets your own metabolism to do the hard work. My personal
recommendation is the Keto diet. You can also get a lot of support on
this diet too.
If you feel run-down and generally “unhealthy” then maybe a detox diet
will give you the spur you need and kick-start you onto a healthier way
to lose weight.
Whatever you choose, I wish you the best of luck.
